"ties; a bridge between past and present"

The gallery is now announcing its second monthly art exhibit! The exhibit includes collected works by photographers Taylor Lenox and Kelsey Disano. Their pieces include family photos that have been appropriated and altered by enlarging the photographs and linking them with large amounts of colorful thread. In this exhibit, viewers can see how the story of an old family photo can change through alterations of scale, presentation, and layering of other materials. Their choice of personal history as art medium raises questions about memory, historical documentation, and family stories. The opening reception will be held July 10th from 6:00 p.m. ‐ 9:00 p.m. at Engine Room Art Space, located at 36 North Potomac Street. Light refreshments will be served, and the artists Lenox and Disano will be present at the reception. The exhibit will remain in the gallery and can be visited during Engine Room Art Space’s regular hours (Thursday ‐ Friday 11:00 a.m. ‐ 7:00 p.m., Saturday 10:00 a.m. ‐ 7:00 p.m. and Sunday 11:00 a.m. ‐ 5:00 p.m.) until August 7th.
